Tarik is home right now.  A couple of days before he was to leave Amman, he called and said, "How would you feel about my forgoing my R&R this week, and then coming home in a month, for good?"  Of course I can't argue with THAT!  Having my husband home once and for all.  YES!  I'll take that!  Seems that KBR came up with a position here in Houston that Tarik fits!   And his start date would be very soon so coming home for a 10 day R&R then going back to pack, then coming home again, kind of seemed like a big waste of time and energy.  Well, because of some corporate procedures like having to post the job internally, and Tarik having to officially apply for the position, he was not guaranteed this position before his R&R time.  So he went ahead and came home.  Since his coming home however, he HAS been hired, went yesterday to meet with his new management team and team he would be working with, said hi to a few people he had worked in Jordan with and have since come back to Houston, and was introduced around the office.  His start date is August 21st.  So, he WILL finish out this R&R on Tuesday the 1st, fly back to Amman, finish up there, pack up his belongings and arrange for them to be shipped back to Houston.  Then he flies back on the 17th!!!!!  YEA!!!  After almost three years my husband will be home for good, and still working for the same company!  Now, the pay will change because we will have to pay taxes on his earnings, and he won't be getting the hazard pay and per diems he earned in Jordan, but he will be home with us, and we can actually be a family!  Its all good.
