V is for Very Cool

New Page 1

Wow, so last night I finally got around to watching "V for Vendetta."  I am not really a graphic novel/comic book fan, not because I'm not interested in the material, but because I just don't have time to really get into something new right now.  But what a great movie; well acted, artistically/visually right on, the music.....  Hugo Weaving is a beautiful actor and a beautiful man and I thoroughly enjoyed his performance; at least I HOPE his beauty is reflected in the type of person he is.  He doesn't seem to be an arse.  Interesting, he is a kiwi, but I have only ever heard him in an English accent.

And I am PISSED at "Lost."  The network, or SOMEONE somewhere in charge, decided to do the season in two short mini-seasons.  So last night was the last new episode until freaking FEBRUARY!  Lame and chicken shit according to Tarik.

And in other news, I have another ultrasound today to check the position of my placenta.  Its lodged in front, and if it doesn't move out of the way, that could mean a C-Section for me which I DO NOT WANT!!!  Its also another opportunity to see who's in here.  Nina and I have been going over girls' names this morning.  But really, when you get right down to it, when the right name comes along, you just know it.  I had been set on the name Jason for Travis for a few months, but for some reason, it never really clicked with Tarik, even though he was the one who suggested it, and that was going to be his name. Then one morning when I was driving to faire rehearsal, Tarik called and said "What about Travis William", and I started crying because I just knew, that was his name; that's who he was.  Travis.  Sigh.  My babies.  How I love them.

Song Virus du Jour:  *giggling*  "Copacabana" ~ Barry Manilow.  HEY!  Quit laughing.  I love him!

Useless Trivia du Jour: Here is a first hand account of the first Thanksgiving feast in Plymouth Colony:
William Bradford
, in Of Plymouth Plantation:

"They began now to gather in the small harvest they had, and to fit up their house and dwelling against winter, being all well recovered in health and strength and had all things in good plenty. For as some were thus employed in affairs abroad, others were exercised in fishing, about cod and bass and other fish, of which they took good store, of which every family had their portion. All the summer there was no want; and now began to come in store of fowl, as winter approached, of which this place did abound when they came first (but afterward decreased by degrees). And besides waterfowl there was great store of wild turkeys, of which they took many, besides venison, etc. Besides, they had about a peck of meal a week to a person, or now since harvest, Indian corn to that proportion. Which made many afterwards write so largely of their plenty here to their friends in England, which were not feigned by true reports."

Preggo Craving du Jour:  I made cheddar cheese soup last night, my specialty, and the leftovers are sitting in the fridge BECKONING me.
